The Dynamics of Health and Welfare programme provides a broad framework and advanced knowledge in the social sciences and humanities with a focus on problems and conditions in the health field.

Deadline for European students: August 15th 2011

The PHOENIX Erasmus Mundus master’s course in Dynamics of Health and Welfare prepares students for professional and research careers that require qualified knowledge and critical thinking from humanistic and social science perspectives on health, illness and health care.

The programme provides an overview of the most important aspects of health and illness in western culture, and in-depth knowledge of influential humanistic and social science theories of health and illness. It also provides sound knowledge of different research methods in humanistic and social sciences, and develops skills in at least some of these. Training is provided in advanced writing on issues such as health, illness or health care.

The multi-national and multi-disciplinary composition of students and teachers, including international student and teacher exchanges with partner institutions in Europe and third countries presents opportunities to increase knowledge and understanding of different cultural and disciplinary contexts.
Students spend Semester 1, 2 and 4 at one of the universities and semester 3 at one of the other three universities.
